I am recovering from a broken hip. I also caretaker for my 91 year old husband who has COPD. Because I spend a great deal of time taking care of him I was not able to do things for myself or even around the house. I am blessed to have found Flamingo Homecare. Sheila made registering so smooth and provided faces of the staff from which to choose. Since we are part timers Sheila had just the person for me. She arranged for a phone call greeting and once done we were set. I must say that it was very hard for me to let others do my work and I tended to want to jump in and help, but Avril, my homecare person and new friend, would hear none of it. She took over and made me feel comfortable. The rate for us was reasonable but more importantly the care shown by the agency and the staff was truly genuine. I am so grateful for everything they do. I highly recommend Flamingo Homecare.

Our 96 year-old mom began to decline rapidly, with several hospital stays and orders that she no longer live alone. Mom had always said ‘a facility’ would be appropriate when she reached that point. But, I realized it was now possible for me to care for her at home, with some assistance. My brother found Flamingo Homecare online and we met with Sheila, the owner, at my home. It’s hard to understand the enormous physical and emotional burden my mom’s failing health places on the family. I don’t know what I would have done all these months without Flamingo Homecare. Kathy and Tracy have been wonderful caregivers, they have never missed one day. I never worry about mama’s well-being – I know they treat her like family. Jennifer is doing fabulous.  I leave her a list everyday and she does everything on the list.  She does over and beyond what she needs to do.  I love when she does this.  It saves me a lot time.  She has a great relationship with my mom.  She tries to get my mom involved in anything that she is doing.  She tries to have a conversation with her everyday.  I can tell that my mom really likes her.  She smiles and hugs her when she leaves.  She makes sure that my mom uses the bathroom throughout the day or prompts her to change should she have an accident.  My husband loves her.

We are so very happy with Jeff. I see a definite difference in both my parents. She is not nearly as stressed and seems to be more rested. They were in Church yesterday for the first time I can remember. Jeff had put dad’s wheelchair in the car the day before for us so I was able to wheel him in and out of giving mom a chance to visit and mingle with friends after the service. When I tell people about him and your organization they are amazed at what all Jeff is willing to do and with such a sweet attitude. We are spreading the word! You have blessed our lives and we can’t thank you enough.

Flamingo Homecare was a blessing to our family. My mother had become unable to care for herself after breaking her hip and was also suffering from progressive dementia. Bud and Sheila met with us at my mother’s house and we talked not only about her physical needs, but they wanted to know about her interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes. They used all of this information to pair mom up with great helpers as well as wonderful companions. To be honest, at first mom was apprehensive about having strangers come into her house, but within a very short time, she couldn’t wait for them to get there and did not want them to leave.
