Client Testimonials

Here is what others say about Flamingo Homecare:

Rita says:

I am recovering from a broken hip. I also caretaker for my 91 year old husband who has COPD. Because I spend a great deal of time taking care of him I was not able to do things for myself or even around the house. I am blessed to have found Flamingo Homecare. Sheila made registering so smooth and provided faces of the staff from which to choose. Since we are part timers Sheila had just the person for me. She arranged for a phone call greeting and once done we were set. I must say that it was very hard for me to let others do my work and I tended to want to jump in and help, but Avril, my homecare person and new friend, would hear none of it. She took over and made me feel comfortable. The rate for us was reasonable but more importantly the care shown by the agency and the staff was truly genuine. I am so grateful for everything they do. I highly recommend Flamingo Homecare.

Connie Robinson says:

Our 96 year-old mom began to decline rapidly, with several hospital stays and orders that she no longer live alone. Mom had always said ‘a facility’ would be appropriate when she reached that point. But, I realized it was now possible for me to care for her at home, with some assistance. My brother found Flamingo Homecare online and we met with Sheila, the owner, at my home. She was so reassuring and helped us choose a caregiver Mom would be comfortable with… Jamie was a great help and comfort! Although Mom wasn’t with us but a few weeks after she came, Jamie provided a smile and the encouragement we all needed so much. The emotional support Flamingo Homecare brought to our home made such a difference! Thank you Jamie and Sheila for the experience and wisdom to help our family through our most difficult time.

Lelia P – Lakeland says:

I fell apart today in the Doctor’s office – guess just from hearing what I already knew about mama’s health and future, but didn’t want to face – along with just being completely exhausted emotionally and physically. I don’t do public displays of emotion usually.

It’s hard to understand the enormous physical and emotional burden my mom’s failing health places on the family. I don’t know what I would have done all these months without Flamingo Homecare. Kathy and Tracy have been wonderful caregivers, they have never missed one day. I never worry about mama’s well-being – I know they treat her like family. The only rest I get is when I know they are here with her. I don’t think I even could have kept my job without Flamingo’s help. I can never thank you all enough!

Alicia W – Bartow says:

Jennifer is doing fabulous.  I leave her a list everyday and she does everything on the list.  She does over and beyond what she needs to do.  I love when she does this.  It saves me a lot time.  She has a great relationship with my mom.  She tries to get my mom involved in anything that she is doing.  She tries to have a conversation with her everyday.  I can tell that my mom really likes her.  She smiles and hugs her when she leaves.  She makes sure that my mom uses the bathroom throughout the day or prompts her to change should she have an accident.  My husband loves her.

I hope this gives you an idea on how we feel about our lovely caregivers.  Again thank you so much for helping us out through this difficult time.

Diane G – Lakeland says:

We are so very happy with Jeff. I see a definite difference in both my parents. She is not nearly as stressed and seems to be more rested. They were in Church yesterday for the first time I can remember. Jeff had put dad’s wheelchair in the car the day before for us so I was able to wheel him in and out of giving mom a chance to visit and mingle with friends after the service. When I tell people about him and your organization they are amazed at what all Jeff is willing to do and with such a sweet attitude. We are spreading the word! You have blessed our lives and we can’t thank you enough.

Jennifer says:

I work for this provider.

You don’t usually hear from employees of agencies like Flamingo Homecare, but those of us who work here like this company. They are good to their employees, they listen, keep us informed, and care about our welfare the same as they do the clients. I have been with them 3 years. There is practically no turnover because we are happy here.

Linda – South Carolina says:

I interviewed this provider

I was very impressed with the lady (co-founder) who contacted me and I was able to bring up all my questions about their services. I felt this agency really cares about elders and would be the best potential for my parents if they decide to move back into their home in Florida.

Lori C – Lake Ashton says:

I am a past client of this provider

The owners visited first. Very professional the way they assess needs. Every aide arrived bright and ready to help. A very good experience for my mom and for me.

Jody and Sam – Mulberry says:

When Bud Hollowell asked me to write a letter of recommendation for their Flamingo Homecare business I said YES!! Bud and Sheila have provided homecare services for myself and husband Sam who is 93 years old…

From Day 1 they have shown how much they care for people—they have compassion—they want to help improve your quality of life within the environment you live in. That’s how I see it.

From my own personal experiences as with Bud and Sheila—they have treated Sam and I with compassion, with respect and most important to preserved the dignity of each of us.

They have tried very hard to match the right caregiver for Sam. Not an easy task in the business they’re in. But they have done in my estimation ad admirable job. I have nothing but kind words for them.

One thing that stands out in my mind over the past 2 ½ years is this – their concern is for their clients –HOW CAN WE HELP YOU? I have heard that so many times –It makes me feel good to know that I have someone to call on if I need to vent or to just praise them for the services they provide. If this is the kind of care you want for your loved one — give them a call and ask HOW CAN YOU HELP ME? ~ From satisfied clients,

Erin – Lakeland says:

Flamingo Homecare was a blessing to our family. My mother had become unable to care for herself after breaking her hip and was also suffering from progressive dementia. Bud and Sheila met with us at my mother’s house and we talked not only about her physical needs, but they wanted to know about her interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes. They used all of this information to pair mom up with great helpers as well as wonderful companions. To be honest, at first mom was apprehensive about having strangers come into her house, but within a very short time, she couldn’t wait for them to get there and did not want them to leave.

Jean G. 12/30/17 says:

Dear Sheila,
Thank you for taking care of my brother John. Your calm nature and devotion to your clients is uncommon in today’s world, and such a comfort t families. I thank you again, and wish you many blessing in the coming year.

Flamingo Homecare’s caregivers are competent, professional, compassionate people, as are Bud and Sheila. They provided an affordable way for my mother to be able to stay in her own home and it was obvious that they truly care about their clients—it’s not just a business. Flamingo Homecare was there for my mother until she passed away and we will forever be grateful for that.
